Detailed operator behavior for market selection, program monitor, HVN National Screen Bug, station IDs, loops, graphics, and emergencies.
Master Control layout and order of attention
Use the layout in this mental order: Program → Station ID → Commercials → Cutaway → Graphics → Emergency. Emergency controls override normal presentation.
Always confirm the selected market tab before a local action. National and six market states are separate operational targets.
Program Monitor
- Select the intended market.
- Confirm the monitor is showing the actual HVN live page/feed for that market.
- Confirm the preview is flagged/excluded from analytics.
- Check audio/video continuity.
- Only then execute presentation actions.
HVN National Screen Bug exact behavior

| PLAYING | Animation runs once toward the configured hold point. |
| HELD | At about 6 seconds/configured hold point, freeze exactly on that frame indefinitely. |
| Duplicate trigger | Ignore or explicitly retrigger; never stack overlapping National Screen Bug instances. |
| National Screen Bug Off | Opacity animates smoothly 100→0, then layer hides/clears, video resets to time 0, state becomes READY/OFF. |

Station ID full video
- Choose market.
- Select the correct uploaded Station ID asset.
- PREVIEW verifies the asset privately.
- CUE prepares it and never airs it by itself.
- TAKE puts the station ID on air.
- Allow configured auto-return on completion, or manually CLEAR/RETURN TO PROGRAM.
National station-ID controls can remain disabled when the network bumper is intentionally baked into the national program master.
Station ID Bug
This is a separate persistent/local logo layer — not the full station-ID video. Operator flow: Upload/Select → Preview → Take → Off. Verify the bug belongs to the selected market before TAKE.
Standby / technical difficulties / offline loop
- Keep the approved loop asset in R2/Command broadcast assets.
- Use TAKE LOOP when program output must be covered.
- The asset loops continuously until cleared.
- Use CLEAR LOOP / RETURN TO PROGRAM when program is stable.
- Verify normal audio/video before return.
The staged package includes the HVN butterfly/lines standby loop.
Emergency controls

Native file program bus and live takeover
Normal prerecorded programming can originate from Command/R2. The schedule resolver selects the approved master for the active market/day. OBS/Owncast remains the live-event and emergency takeover path.
- Verify the Local Program Confidence monitor.
- Verify Public Confidence for the audience-facing HVN player in the selected market.
- During a scheduled file, a commercial break pauses that file timeline and resumes it after the pod. A live/OBS source continues underneath the break, which is expected for live events and sports.
- Use TAKE LIVE / OBS for a live event or unscheduled takeover; use RETURN TO SCHEDULE only after confirming the scheduled bus is healthy.
